CALLED MEETING TO ADOPT FY-11 BUDGET
SEMINOLE COUNTY COURTHOUSE, LAW LIBRARY
TUESDAY, MAY 18, 2010
5:30 P.M.
The Seminole County Board of Commissioners held a Called Meeting for the purpose
of adopting the FY-11 General Fund and Special Funds Budgets. The meeting was held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 in the Law Library located on the first floor of the Seminole County Courthouse. Those present were Chairman Tommy Rogers, Vice-Chairman Alton Harrison, Commissioner Dell Shingler, Commission Scott Miller, Clerk Donna Jones and a few interested citizens. Commissioner Brenda Peterson was absent.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Tommy Rogers.
The invocation was offered by Chairman Tommy Rogers.
Citizens Request:
The Commission discussed a request from Tear Drop Motion Pictures to use the FDR facility and the Spring Creek Park pavilion area to film a motion picture. The production company is a non-profit organization based out of Atlanta and provides acting and producing opportunities for under privileged children. The subject of the film is a summer dance camp.
The request was granted on a motion by Commissioner Alton Harrison and seconded by Commissioner Scott Miller. Motion passed.
Conditions of the approval are to have the production company provide an insurance bond and a standard contract to relieve the county of any liability that should occur during the production. Also, the company will be required to provide a one-hundred dollar ($100) cleaning deposit that will be returned if the facilities are left as found.
On a motion by Commissioner Alton Harrison and seconded by Commissioner Dell Shingler the General Fund and Special Fund budgets for FY-11 were approved. Motion passed.
On a motion by Commissioner Scott Miller and seconded by Commissioner Alton Harrison the commission entered into Executive Session to discuss a personnel matter.
On a motion by Commissioner Scott Miller and seconded by Commissioner Alton Harrison the commission re-entered the General Session.

With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned on a motion by Commissioner Scott Miller, seconded by Commissioner Alton Harrison with Commissioner Dell Shingler and Chairman Tommy Rogers voting yes.
