Other Business:
Commissioner Rogers asked Amos Sheffield to step to the podium concerning the talk of County Manager Donna Jones’ raise. Judge Sheffield expressed his concern about the employees not receiving a COLA raise for the past several years and said it was unfair to the County employees. Also speaking were Earlene Bramlett, Heath Elliott, Maria Ricketson, Jeff Grice, Charles Avery, C.J. Hodge and James Register.
Commissioner Roger Lane then spoke on the subject stating the budget sessions did not mention the raise on County Manager Jones and he felt 20% was excessive. Commissioner Lane made a motion to reduce Donna Jones’ salary by 10% but could not get a 2nd therefore the motion failed.
Adjournment:
With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned on a motion made by Commissioner Brenda Peterson, seconded by Commissioner Dell Shingler, with Chairman Tommy Rogers voting yes.
