INITIAL BUDGET WORK SESSION FOR
SEMINOLE COUNTY LAW LIBRARY
FRIDAY, APRIL 13, 2012 1:00 P.M.
The Seminole County Board of Commissioners held their Initial FY-13 Budget Work Session on Friday, April 13, 2012 in the Courthouse Law Library. Those present were Chairman Dell Shingler, Vice-Chairman Roger Lane, Commissioner Darius Culverson, Commissioner Scott Miller, Commissioner Brenda Peterson, and County Manager/Clerk Paula Granger.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dell Shingler.
The invocation was offered by Vice Chairman Roger Lane.
The first order of business was to take a second vote on the recycling containers previously voted on during the April 10th, 2012 Regular Meeting. Anderson Manufacturing was initially selected as the vendor, however, it was later determined Albritton Welding & Transport was the lowest bidder. A motion to amend the vote and select Albritton Welding & Transport was made by Commissioner Miller and a second was provided by Commissioner Lane. All voted in favor, motion passed.
This was the initial meeting for each department to present their budget requests for FY-13.
Agencies and County Departments presenting budgets were:
Chamber of Commerce
Sr. Citizen’s Center
School Resource Officer
Superior Court Clerk
Probate / Magistrate Court
Probate / Magistrate Judge Amos Sheffield addressed the board regarding the collection of fees for technology improvements for his office. Commissioner Culverson made the motion to allow Judge Sheffield to contact our local legislators on approving a technology add-on fee to each criminal case in Seminole County, a second was provided by Commissioner Peterson. Commissioner Lane abstained, Commissioner Miller was absent, and Chairman Shingler voted yes, motion passed.
Due to time constraints, departments that were unable to present their budget requests will present at the next budget work session scheduled for Tuesday, April 24th beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Commissioner Lane made the motion to adjourn, Commissioner Peterson provided the second, all in favor, motion passed.
